Distribution of minikit seed to the farmers of Siddipet district at DAATTC, Tornala on 05.06.2023

A programme was organized at DAATTC, Tornala on 05.06.2023 where in seeds of paddy (WGL-1537, WGL-1380, WGL-1246, RNR- 31479 and RNR-28361), one redgram variety (WRG-182) vs check (WRGE-97) were distributed to 19 farmers from twelve villages viz., Tornala, chittapur, Rainpally, Gurralagondi, Gajwel, Railapur, Banjerupally, Padmanabampally, Musthyala, Mundrai, Ibrahimnagar, Thimmapur of Siddipet and Medak districts, on the hands of Dr. S. Sridevi, PS & Head, Sri. J. Vijay (Coordinator) & all the scientists of ARS, Tornala participated in the programme. At the outset, Sri. J. Vijay has explained about the importance of minikits, regular visits of scientists to the demonstration sites and feedback required from the beneficiary farmers which helps the scientists to fine tune the same before releasing the varieties. Further, he also requested the farmers to visit and discuss the problems in Agriculture with the scientists. Dr. Ch. Pallavi has explained about the characteristic features of minikit varieties of rice and redgram and informed them that DAATTC scientists will reach as many no. of farmers as possible in near future.
